The Ecology of Collective Power

BSI’s Fall Giving Campaign

In this season of civic urgency, Biomimicry for Social Innovation invites individuals, businesses and foundations to help us invest in systemic change. Your tax-deductible donations provide the fuel we need to:

  • Scale our reach and impact through strategic partnerships and collaboration

  • Expand our Scholarship Fund to foster cultural diversity and access for all

  • Build new educational offerings to include an array of online courses and resources

  • Foster a vibrant network of change-makers applying nature’s genius to social innovation

  • Advance the field of biomimicry by contributing research and thought leadership focused on cultural evolution

And—thanks to a generous member of BSI’s Keystone Investor Network (KIN)—all gifts made during this campaign will be matched up to $50,000. Your contribution, at any level, will help unlock this match and invest in the conditions that allow collective power to take root and spread.

Contributing to BSI and the Ecology of Collective Power campaign is an investment in our shared future—in the living conditions, relationships, and patterns that make collective action and social transformation possible.

To celebrate the abundance of this Fall Giving campaign, you'll be invited to a special (post-election) virtual gathering, featuring leaders from each of our diverse initiatives—a chance to hear directly from the people doing this work, reflect on the moment, ask questions, and be part of the interconnectedness of the BSI ecosystem.

Join us in amplifying the conditions that allow collective power to take root and spread.

Because the future we’re working towards won’t be created by any one person, program, or institution. Like a living system, it will emerge through many relationships, many forms of intelligence, and many contributions working together.

We invite you to spread the word about your partnership with BSI to your network and extend the invitation to join this movement!

Our progress

As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, all donations to BSI are 100% tax-deductible.

Our Gift back to you, our community:

In the spirit of the collective, we’re excited to bring everyone together for a mid-November (post-election) Dialogue. Save-the-date for The Ecology of Collective Power on November 18 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm ET.

At this community gathering, we’ll spotlight Biomimicry for Social Innovation practitioners and partners, each surfacing a deep pattern that creates the conditions for collective power, including:

  • Building Trust with Roxey Nelson – Collective power begins with relationships strong enough to hold it.

  • Nourishing Networks with Maori leader Marcus Akuhata-Brown – Relational power circulates to where it is needed most.

  • Understanding Local Context with Deborah Bidwell – Change takes root when it is connected to place.

  • Distributing Leadership with Liz Kazal – Communal power grows when more people have the agency to act.

  • Resourcing Diversity with Dr. Sherry Congrave Wilson – Difference builds resilience and generative capacity.

More than simply stories from biomimicry practitioners in the field, each spotlight offers a different way of understanding where power comes from—and how it can be shared.

Directly from these living examples of change-making inspired by nature, we’ll showcase: what we’re learning, who is carrying the work forward, and how they are helping new possibilities emerge.

Thank you for being part of resourcing the continuing evolution of this work. We’re looking forward to gathering with you in a community of continual learning.
